Sure to satisfy rear-seat passengers on short jaunts and cross-country vacations, alike, Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) announced the availability of its new Rear Seat Entertainment System (RSES) accessory kit for the 2016-18 Mazda CX-9 midsize crossover SUV.

RSES can be retrofitted to all 2016, 2017 and 2018 Mazda CX-9s as a dealer-installed accessory. It will also come in select 2018 Mazda CX-9 as a port-installed item.

RSES features:

  • Dual 8-inch LCD monitors (1024 x 600 resolution; 16:9 aspect ratio)
  • Single CD/DVD player
  • USB 2.0 and SD card inputs
  • HDMI ports for wired device connections (Android/iOS smartphones and tablets)
  • Two IR-type wireless headphones
  • 5mm stereo headphone output
  • Two remote controls

Because video data can come from multiple sources via USB, SD, CD/DVD or HDMI, the monitors are able to play different content simultaneously, or both monitors can display the same content. On the safety front, Mazda’s RSES has undergone rigorous testing, passing all evaluations in accordance to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

RSES is available now and carries a manufacturer’s suggested retail price[1] of $1,995.

Mazda North American Operations is headquartered in Irvine, California, and oversees the sales, marketing, parts and customer service support of Mazda vehicles in the United States and Mexico through nearly 600 dealers. Operations in Mexico are managed by Mazda Motor de Mexico in Mexico City.
