Chompin’ At the Bit (2015 Ford Mustang)

What’s in store for the highly anticipated 2015 Pony?  What kind of facelift will Classic Designs Concepts come up with?  Who will have the deeper more rumbling exhaust system…Borla or Flowmaster?  What kind of twist will Roush give the ole reliable stallion?  We’re talking about the 6th Generation 2015 Ford Mustang.

If you check out cjponyparts.com and americanmuscle.com, they are chomping at the bit literally to get their hands on THE car and the aftermarket parts to bring to mustang enthusiasts.

2015 Ford Mustang ConceptLet’s start with the basics and what we do know.  The 2015 Stang will have available 3 motor options for under the hood.   The 5.0-liter V8 will be tweaked to produce more than 420 HP.  The current 2014 model produces 420 at the flywheel at 6500 RPM.  The downgraded 3.7-liter V6 will be less than 305 HP compared to the 2014 version.  The newest addition to the lineup is the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost® four-cylinder, which Ford projects to get 305 horsepower.   All of the engines will be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic (paddle shifters included).

Based upon what’s available for the 2014 Mustang, the aftermarket community will be bringing you CAI systems, camshafts, injectors, radiators, nitrous kits, superchargers, several clutch stages, flywheels, gears, and shifters to squeeze even more horsepower out of those engines!  Don’t forget about those exhaust pipes.   We’ve seen headers the whole way to Boss style side exhaust available previously.  Don’t expect anything less.

Then there is the new rear suspension.  Ford has thrown out the solid axle and replaced it with a new independent suspension.  The aftermarket companies will be bringing new control arms, cages, axles, CV bearings, and coilovers.  These parts will let you lay down more rubber behind you.

2015 Ford Mustang concept BodyNow for the body…There are deeper lines and more curves on the 2015 S550, which will give the aftermarket companies more to work with.  We’ll see new grilles for that Fusion inspired nose.  On top of that expect the usual spoilers, window louvers, ground effects, and dress up parts known for on 2005-2014 retro-inspired S197 models.

All in all Ford has put together another mean looking and performance boggling coup.  We expect the aftermarket to make it meaner and even more aggressive so that you can customize to your liking and leave your buddies with the Camaros and the Challengers in the dust.  Wait! Can’t the Stangs already do that?!?!
