KELLEY BLUE BOOK’S 10 MOST AWARDED BRANDS OF 2019
Volkswagen of America, Inc. announced that the brand was named one of Kelley Blue Book’s 10 Most Awarded Brands of 2019. Kelley Blue Book’s experts recently sorted through the winners from all of the company’s 2019 awards programs, compiling a list of the brands that were recognized most often this year. Volkswagen earned eight awards from Kelley Blue Book—including two each for Atlas and Jetta, and three for the Golf family.
“With a diverse lineup that features family-friendly SUVs like the Atlas and fun-to-drive hatchbacks like the Golf and GTI, Volkswagen has rightfully earned its recognition as an industry leader not only in these individual segments but as a brand overall,” said Matt DeLorenzo, senior managing editor for Kelley Blue Book.

The 2019 Atlas earned two Kelley Blue Book awards: it is one of 12 Best Family Cars of 2019 and one of 10 Best Road Trip Cars of 2019. Kelley Blue Book editors praised the Atlas for its interior space and comfortable three rows of seating, as well as its European driving dynamics, technology features and warranty. Atlas was noted for having “just enough out-of-the-mainstream character” to be “worth a look for anybody shopping for comfort combined with capability.”
Jetta also scored two Kelley Blue Book awards for 2019: 10 Coolest New Cars Under $20,000 and 10 Best Sedans Under $30,000. The redesigned model received kudos for its “crisp, contemporary design, taut yet comfortable driving manners, enhanced safety and driver-assist features, and fresh technology.”
The Golf family scored three 2019 Kelley Blue Book awards with the Golf joining Jetta on the 10 Coolest New Cars Under $20,000 list, GTI nabbing a slot as one of 10 Coolest Cars Under $30,000, and Golf Alltrack being named one of the 10 Best All-Wheel-Drive Vehicles Under $30,000. Golf and GTI models were both lauded for their blend of practicality and fun-to-drive nature, while Alltrack’s styling and capability was called out for the way it “masterfully blends station wagon looks with the off-road flavor of a sport-ute.”
Last, but not least, the 2019 Passat was named one of 10 Most Comfortable Cars Under $30,000. Kelley Blue Book editors noted that Passat has “one of the roomiest back seats in its class” along with good road manners and “the best warranty on the block.”
