Two Chevrolet vehicles – the Corvette Stingray and Silverado full-size pickup – are finalists for the prestigious North American Car and Truck of the Year awards.
With an entry in both the Car and Truck/Utilities category, Chevrolet has more finalists than any brand competing for the 2014 awards, which will be handed out on Jan. 13, 2014 before the opening of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The jury of 48 automotive journalists selected the car finalists from among 28 foreign and domestic contenders. The Silverado was one of three finalists from 18 nominees in the Truck/Utilities category.
“This is proof we’re on the right track,” said Mark Reuss, president, General Motors North America. “It’s gratifying to see the experts agree that we’re offering customers one of the strongest lineups of cars and trucks available on the market.”
The finalists were revealed Monday at an Automotive Press Association luncheon at the Detroit Athletic Club.
