The Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing Team will give fans top riders to cheer for during the MotoAmerica Championship of Monterey. 2017 EBC Brakes Superbike champion and current points leader Toni Elias and teammate Josh Herrin will look to add to their respective multiple-win seasons. They are joined on the grid by Jake Lewis on the M4 ECSTAR Suzuki GSX-R1000. M4 ECSTAR and Team Norris Racing field Suzuki GSX-R600s in Supersport, and Altus Motorsports has a GSX-R600 in both Supersport and Stock 1000. 2018 Twins Champion Chris Parrish will attend on a SV650 as well as M4’s Alex Dumas and Joseph Blasius.
Suzuki has a winning history in AMA Superbike at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca dating back to Steve McLaughlin and Wes Cooley winning in 1977 and 1978, respectively; Mat Mladin and Ben Spies combining for seven wins between 2003 and 2009; Tommy Hayden’s 2011 victory; and Elias delivering a double-win to Yoshimura Suzuki in 2017.
