Chevy is no longer sitting idle while Ford takes the bulk of the performance truck market. It has been announced that the Chevrolet Silverado Reaper will soon be available at select dealerships across the United States. Word across the inter-web is that Southern Comfort Automotive and Lingenfelter Performance Engineering leaked the photos and details about this new pickup truck, and that the SVT Raptor slaying Reaper will be created with the help Lingenfelter and Southern Comfort.
Will the Reaper be able to beat the Raptor in a battle for the toughest performance truck?
The Silverado Reaper could give the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor some competition. It’s reportedly faster than the Ford with a 5.3-liter EcoTec V-8 making 475 ponies. The 6.2 in the Ford makes 411 ponies. The 5.3 EcoTec makes that power with the help from a Lingenfelter supercharger with performance engine tuning. Other features of the Chevy include a high-clearance bumper, reinforced skid plates, 33-inch off-road tires, and custom side steps. The Chevy Reaper will also feature Fox Racing suspension, an auxiliary switch panel, and a bespoke exhaust system. Rumor has it that a 17-inch beadlock off-road wheel and tire package will be available too!
Full details of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Reaper have not been released yet. It will be revealed tonight at the National Automotive Dealers Association. It will also only be available at certain Chevrolet dealerships in the country, so check back for more details.
