Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is once again honoring the men and women who serve or have served in the United States Armed Forces by hosting Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, September 23, during the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix featuring AMERICA’S TIRE 250 which takes place September 21-24.
One military ID for any past or active member of the United States Armed Forces gets them plus one guest free admission into the track and paddock which was built on Fort Ord property in 1957. Additionally, children 12 and under get in free, so those who serve our country are encouraged to bring their entire family to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for a thrilling day of racing action.
The Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix featuring AMERICA’S TIRE 250 will feature incredible prototype and GT sports car action from the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama, and Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BF Goodrich Tires.
Fan activities during Military Appreciation Day will include autograph sessions and a grid walk where fans will be able to step foot on the iconic 11-turn, 2.238-mile course. A paddock filled with cutting edge sports cars and a bustling marketplace will create a fun-filled atmosphere for the whole family. The day will also include a surprise and heartwarming event with JPMorgan Chase, Mazda, and Operation Homefront. Details will be available at a date closer to the event.
“We welcome all veterans and active members of the United States Armed Forces to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca,” said Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s Gill Campbell. “Offering veterans or those who serve and one guest free admission on September 23 is a small token of our appreciation for everything they sacrifice that allows us the freedom to put on great motorsports events for all to enjoy. We hope to extend that appreciation further by offering a fantastic show once they get in the gate and properly recognizing our Armed Forces during the event.”
