Just under 24,000 Indian Motorcycles of several different models have been recalled. A fuel rail issue causing fuel leaks has been determined as the cause of this recall.
The Indian models recalled are; the Chief Dark Horse, the Chief Classic, Chieftan, Vintage, Chieftan Dark Horse, Roadmaster and Springfield of the 2014 to 2017 model years. All of these models were manufactured from April 15, 2013 through July 15, 2016.
Any time there is a fuel leak, the fuel could be ignited by a spark, thus resulting in a fire hazard. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) received the recall notice from Indian and the recall is set to begin December 2016.
