The 2019 Honda Accord lineup begins arriving at dealer showrooms across the country on Thursday, Nov. 1 with a starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $23,7201 (excluding $895 destination and handing). Labeled as “America’s Best Sedan” by Car & Driver magazine in 2018, the 10th generation Accord delivers exceptional performance and refinement by way of three powerful-yet-efficient powertrains including Honda’s unique two-motor hybrid system. Further bolstering Accord’s award-winning status is a rigid, lightweight and tightly sealed body, remarkably quiet cabin, and innovative in-vehicle technology, such as available Apple CarPlay® and Android AutoTM integration.
With value playing a critical role in every Honda product, standard features across the Accord lineup include LED headlights and taillights, dual-zone climate control, a 7-inch customizable digital driver’s meter, push-button start, and a full suite of Honda Sensing® safety and driver-assistive technologies.
Connectivity
Connected-car technologies available on the 2019 Accord include a 7-inch digital TFT driver’s meter (standard), an 8-inch, high-resolution Display Audio touchscreen with an intuitive smartphone-like layout and Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration (Sport and above trims). Additional available features consist of a 6-inch head up display (HUD), automatic Bluetooth® phone pairing, wireless device charging and next-generation HondaLink™ Assist with available 4G LTE in-car Wi-Fi and smartphone-controlled remote engine start.
Powertrains
Standard motivation for the 2019 Accord comes from a turbocharged 1.5-liter, DOHC direct-injected inline 4-cylinder engine with a peak output of 192 horsepower and 192 lb.-ft. of torque (both SAE net). Stepping up to the optional 2.0T VTEC Turbo® inline-4 provides performance-minded buyers with 252 peak horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque (both SAE net). Accord Hybrid is powered by the third generation of Honda’s sophisticated two-motor hybrid powertrain, which pairs a 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC® Atkinson-cycle inline-4 engine to an electric propulsion motor that churns out 232 lb.-ft. of torque for a class-leading total system output of 212 horsepower. As before, the Accord two-motor system operates without the need for a conventional automatic transmission.
In a nod to Accord’s sporting character, non-hybrid models can be paired with a short-throw 6-speed manual gearbox. Other transmissions for the 1.5T and 2.0T consist of a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), or segment-first 10-speed automatic transmission, respectively.
