After four rounds and eight races, the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 of Imperiale Racing is leading the International GT Open championship. This thanks to the victory obtained last Saturday in Race 1 at Hungaroring, but above all thanks to a remarkable persistence of results achieved by the duo formed by the 2016 GT Open Champion Thomas Biagi and the Lamborghini Factory Driver Giovanni Venturini, who have always scored points in the races disputed so far.
The Hungaroring victory marks the first success of the season for the Italian team and its Lamborghini Huracán GT3 and this result was achieved thanks to a race spent entirely on the offensive. After starting from P3 with Giovanni Venturini behind the wheel, the Lamborghini number 1 fought for the podium during all the seventy minutes of the race. At five minutes from the end, there was a twist: the leading Ferrari of Ramos and Mac was involved in a contact and the Huracán GT3 of Imperiale Racing, at that time with Biagi behind the wheel, had free way to victory.
In Race 2, Biagi and Venturini were unable to go beyond the fifth position, because of the time handicap received after the win. But Imperiale Racing managed to celebrate anyway, thanks to the third place obtained by the sister car, the Huracán GT3 number 23, driven by the leader of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe Vito Postiglione and the GT3 Junior Driver of Lamborghini Squadra Corse Andrea Fontana.
The next round of the International GT Open is scheduled on the weekend of 2-3 September at Silverstone.
