HONG KONG, June 5, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Digital transformation is a crucial strategy for businesses to enhance their competitiveness, but the process involves overcoming numerous challenges, especially in terms of familiarity with cloud service architectures and the right tools. Companies often face a talent shortage in this area. Choosing the right cloud hosting service provider becomes a key factor in ensuring a successful transformation. Companies should prioritize reliable providers with extensive experience to minimize risks and improve the chances of success in the transformation.

Plaza Premium Group Teams Up with AWS and eCloudvalley to Streamline Digital Transformation.

Founded in 1998, Plaza Premium Group initially focused on providing airport lounge services. With the expansion of its business, the group now operates over 1,600 touch points across 150 countries. Its service offerings have broadened to include a range of integrated hospitality services, such as hotels, airport dining, airport concierge services, and loyalty programs. In addition to advanced IT infrastructure and operational capabilities, the group places a strong emphasis on real-time responsiveness, time zone management, and cross-border collaboration, striving to deliver a global and efficient service experience for travelers.

AWS offers reliable cloud infrastructure while ensuring strict data compliance standards.

Prasan Verma, Chief Technology Officer of Plaza Premium Group, stated that the company has been actively developing new application services to enhance the customer experience. He specifically mentioned that many of today’s customers are “tech-savvy,” and their expectations have significantly changed compared to the past. For example, when entering the lounge, “customers are more inclined to use QR codes as a faster and more convenient way to check in at the counter, so we have also developed an app to meet their needs.”

He mentioned that over the past six or seven years, the group has adopted multiple cloud-native applications to build its own applications including the newly launched OneTECO (Travel Experience Ecosystem) and Smart Traveller.

Prasan pointed out that when the group embarked on its digital transformation journey, it had already set a clear goal of leveraging “cloud-native applications” to improve the speed, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness of development and deployment. The group has consistently chosen AWS as its cloud service provider, hosting its core systems on AWS. There are two main reasons for this choice.

“First, AWS provides a stable cloud infrastructure, and their team continuously develops a range of user-friendly tools that help us quickly respond to various business needs.” Secondly, since Plaza Premium Group’s business spans globally and its partners including financial institutions, airlines, insurance, travel platforms and companies from other industries, there are strict data compliance requirements. “AWS has already been serving many large financial institutions, significantly reducing our concerns about data security and compliance.“

He also revealed that in recent years, the group has started collaborating with eCloudvalley, “Because we are continuously developing innovative services, we decided to leverage eCloudvalley’s expertise and experience in AWS to help the group select the most suitable tools and solutions, enhancing development efficiency and security.”

eCloudvalley: Leveraging Microservices, Containers, and AI Technologies as Emerging Trends

Joe Kwok, Country Manager of eCloudvalley, the digital transformation service provider that recently won the AWS “Global Annual MSP Partner” award, pointed out that in recent years, companies have accelerated their digital transformation efforts. However, cloud services remain a relatively new technology, and as a result, businesses inevitably face many challenges.

“Take Plaza Premium Group as an example. They need to continuously develop innovative application services, so they chose AWS, which has an advantage in this area, as their primary cloud service provider.” However, He added, “To expand PPG’s current infrastructure, eCloudvalley, as experts in cloud-native applications and multi- cloud environments, will not only assist PPG in customizing AWS service solutions but also help them transition to a more flexible and agile multi-cloud environment in line with their development roadmap, to meet their unique needs.”

Joe pointed out that digital transformation for businesses is not just about moving infrastructure and applications to the cloud but about leveraging the advantages and flexibility of cloud services to bring new value to the business. In addition to public cloud services, businesses need to manage the integration of hybrid cloud services for operations between the cloud and on-premises environments. This requires more IT and professional manpower to handle various complex demands.

“In recent years, businesses that have successfully transformed share two major trends when developing applications.”

The first trend is the use of “microservices” or “container” technologies for development. The advantage of these technologies is that they are easier to modify or scale, enabling businesses to quickly adapt to the ever-changing market demands and deploy new application services. The second trend is the incorporation of “artificial intelligence” (AI) technology, where training AI and using large language models (LLMs) help businesses respond more accurately and flexibly to unexpected situations.

Since digital transformation requires extensive use of cloud services, and may even adopt a multi-cloud strategy, Joe emphasized that businesses will face a significantly increased risk of cyberattacks. Therefore, it is crucial to focus on data security and compliance. He advised that when selecting a cloud managed service provider, companies should carefully assess whether the provider has internationally recognized security certifications (such as ISO 27001) and relevant service experience.

He further explained that awards or certifications from cloud service providers serve as key indicators of a managed service provider’s familiarity with their architecture and technology. Once security concerns are resolved, businesses can concentrate on expanding their operations without any concerns. eCloudvalley will assist companies in adopting the most appropriate cloud services.
