A new comparison chart shows how the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Overland matches up with 2019 Ram 2500 Tradesman in terms of horsepower, towing capacity, and a whole lot more. The team at MoparPartsOnSale.com put the two often talked about vehicles side-by-side to see just how different they are.
“Both vehicles have great reputations and capabilities and are often compared to each other,” says Ryan Germeroth, parts manager at MoparPartsOnSale.com. “Hopefully, this chart puts an end to that discussion. The numbers show they are simply different trucks and given the differences in power and weight, we think they attract completely different drivers, too.”
Here are some highlights from the comparison chart:
- Every stat for the 2019 Ram is bigger than that of the 2020 Gladiator except for MSRP.
- In some cases, the stats are much bigger. For instance, the Ram 2500 Tradesman can tow up to 14,400 lbs vs the Gladiator’s 6,000 lbs towing capacity.
- The Gladiator is a more manageable size, coming in 20 inches shorter in length, 10 inches slimmer, and 5 inches shorter in height.
“The Ram Tradesman isn’t as nicely equipped as the Gladiator in the Overland trim level,” says Germeroth. “There are some extra incentives available on the Ram that makes it a value, but we still think the Gladiator is a better truck. You should choose the Ram only if you want to haul or tow a ridiculous amount of weight. Few need that though, so we’re sticking with the Gladiator.”
